Tackle it Tuesday - Bunk Bed

It was a bit emotional to have the boys bunk bed set up. They (Robert, Christine and Joshua) finally did it last Thursday night! It took them about two and a half hours to take apart the crib, Joshua's twin bed and put together the (new to us) bunk bed. I would have helped them but I was finishing up the craft project for the young teen girls event in our homeschool group, plus I have a back problem (my first gift or sign of being old) so they excluded me from the tackling fun. Anyway I was fine with it as it would probably be too hard for me to see Peter's crib go.

Robert and Josh breaking down the crib.

As you can see, the boys room is Nemo themed. It was Joshua's 8 years old birthday present (see the next picture from 2006).

I even hand painted the wall to have an ocean wave effect.

Ironically, the bunk bed that was given to us has the same blue color on it. We were thinking about repainting the whole room to make it look a little more of a young man's room but with the bunk bed color being blue, I think we will stick with the ocean waves and just change the wall border to some airplane theme. Bunk bed is the first step toward the boys room re-arrangement. We will be removing more furniture from this room to make it feel roomier and get some nice linen for the beds.
