Zumba!

Ok, ok, I never thought I would live to see myself doing this!  What a work-out!

My friend invited me to join the class (all middle age women) and told me it is not the kind of exercises that would make you ache for days.  I trusted her and went.  It was the biggest, longest (one hour) exercise routines I have ever done!  I am not terribly sore today probably due to the constant movement of the body, not bending or twisting in one same position too long.

I perspired the entire time there. I really like the workout part of it (burnt lots of calories) but am having somewhat of a hard time with the music and some of the hip movements (I just did not seem to get the twisting of my hip down - LOL!) The work-out is all about keeping with the rhythm of the Latin-tone music, perhaps that was my problem there.

Anyway, it was quite an experience.  I said I would like to go back and do it again, but I am not 100% sure since Robert just started working again and it is a temp job.  The class was a treat he gifted me.

If you are fit or are a dancer or just being younger, have a "fun budget" and the music does not phase you, you may enjoy this.

  1. I am looking into different workouts and I hear everyone is doing Zumba. I'm not quite sure I want to pay for classes just yet, esp if I can't commit to going. They sound really fun though. I'm glad you got to try it out.

  2. I tried Zumba, but never felt too comfortable with it. Just because I have no real dancing abilities. Hehe. I did also try Body Combat {which is like the hip hop form of karate} and that was awesome. I walked away feeling like I could be a secret agent with some crazy-awesome fight moves. Haha!

  5. What an adventure! I have heard great things about Zumba but with my lack of coordination I think it might be a better idea for me to start out at home, wonder if there are any on netflix? Way go to!

  6. Aerobics is enough for me! I can't get my hips to move Latin-style.
